    I like to look for lunch portions or sometimes they have half orders or full orders and you can get half. I like to share my food, too. It’s really affordable that way, too.

    ya, it’s one of the more annoying things about eating out here…i try to doggy-bag my meals so that i don’t feel like i wasted anything.

    Ask for the “doggie bag” or take home container to come with your food at the beginning. Then when the food arrives, automatically put half of it away to take home. This way the employees will understand it’s not about the taste & it’ll help you’ll eat less. I also love ordering off the children’s menu, but most places will charge you an extra dollar or so. Personally, I would prefer smaller cheaper meals when eating out, but American’s are unlikely to change.

    sometimes i find the portions too small. I guess it depends on the type of restaurant (ex. japanese restaurants usually serve smaller portions) I usually try to finish all of my meal and take any leftovers home (:

    I’m learning to not finish my entire meal out at restaurants. I have a horrible habit of eating it all because it tastes so good- even if I am full. Now, I take it home and eat it the next day, or I split it with who ever I am dining with. Splitting entrees is the way to go – not to mention less expensive ;-)

    haha i live in the united states and when i know were gonna go out to eat i just dont eat as much until then because i like to pig out =D
    but i don’t stuff my face, i just eat like normal and take whatever is left over back home
