Eat less
Just because you are served a ton of food doesn’t mean you have to eat it all. Also, Indian food does have many healthy options consisting of fruits and vegetables. You definitely don’t need “diet food” to lose weight, the most important thing is to eat in moderation.
Oh, be sure to drink 10-15 glasses of water a day without drinking any carbonated drinks and coffee or tea. Try it. For I have done this. I lose weight from 75 kilos to 62 kilos in 3 months. Now, I am on my 3rd year and I am maintaining my weight from 56kilos to 60 kilos nowadays.
GOD BLESS and have a great day
Reduce the amount you eat, and try to get some more exercise. Also, make sure you get a full 7 to 8 hours sleep. In addition to a good night’s sleep being good for your metabolism, most people can actually burn 50 to 75 calories per hour SLEEPING! Other than that, I’m not sure what else.

I appreciate your viewpoint and I love that you approached it in such a positive manner, leading to more discussion. Thanks! It’s not just gluten-free as a fad that bothers me. This is just my personal feeling, but I really do not like any type of restrictive diet as a fad. Different lifestyle diets do come and go with trends. Thinking of it in a different angle, it is good that it brings more awareness to the different dietary lifestyles out there. But in my mind, those who have to be gluten-free aren’t following that restrictive diet by choice – it’s truly because they have to in order to function. Honestly, I feel like in the mainstream sense, a gluten-free diet is just another diet to add to the arsenal of crash diets for many people. For many it’s not something they plan to keep up long term, it’s simply seen as something they can do to lose weight by next month. I suppose it’s because I have to restrict certain foods (any type of food containing a tree nut) that I really just wish people would stop restricting foods that they don’t have to, and I just wish we could all learn to eat what we wanted in moderation. I also am not a huge fan of the “good” food and “bad” food mentality. Anything can be enjoyed within reason. So ultimately that’s why I personally am annoyed with food diets like this becoming a trend. It takes a serious food restriction some people are forced to live with and gluten becomes labeled as “bad” and a “fat food” subconsciously. In my utopia world, everyone could eat moderate portions of all foods they wanted and be satisfied.

The fact that some people can control their diabetes by changing their diet and exercise patterns, and that some of those people also lose weight as a result of those changes, leads to a conventional wisdom that seems to be the reverse of the actual causality.
