How to lose weight without losing muscle?

After getting gastric problems, and becoming anorexic for 15 days for fear of throwing it all up anyway, i lost 10 pounds of muscle. Now I want to lose weight, and I have no idea how to lose weight without the burning of muscle, does anyone know how. Please be detailed.

weight is very hard to keep low with muscle as muscle weighs more than fat. try to focus on other things rather than weight.

GET WELL FIRST. EAT. you are malnourished and therefore you cant build muscle.
The way to a muscular body: eating normally, but not too many carbs and more protein.
And working out like mad! Lifting weights till your crazy sore.

Im anorexic. So its not because im a health freak. These are the facts.

Use a non stick frying pan for your cooking so that you do not have to add oil. The golden rule is to try and avoid as much oil as possible and a non stick pan is the perfect solution to this problem.

Avoid crash diets. They are bad for health and you will gain what you have lost once you take a break. Crash diets are not a solution to weight loss. It might seem as if you have lost few pounds but the moment you give up on the crash diet every thing will bounce back with a vengeance. Take a look at it in this way. Do you think that it is possible for a person to survive on a crash diet for the rest of his or her life’ Certainly not! So at some time or the other, you will have to give up the crash diet and then you will see for yourself that a crash diet does more harm than good on the long run. Crash diets may have a lot to promise, but very rarely do these promises ring true. Crash diets are things people go on in order to wear an old dress or suit for a particular occasion. That’s the only purpose that they serve as far as I can see.

Dry wine is better than sweet wine. Sweet wines naturally contain a lot of sugar. But on the other hand, in dry wines most of this sugar has been fermented away so from the weight point of view dry wines are better than sweet wines.52. When you decide it’s time to start working out, start slowly and don’t get discouraged if you don’t achieve your fitness goals after the first week. Many people make this mistake. They feel that if they really push their bodies they can lose more weight in a couple of work outs. This is a very serious thing in fact. If you try to push your body too much in the first few goes, you are likely to end up with sprained joints, a sore back and even torn ligaments. The rule to be followed here is slow and steady wins the race.

Try to collect some information about exercise, there are a lot of things that you can do at home. Extensive research has been done on exercise and plenty of this information is easily available. You can try browsing the net or getting a book or two on how to exercise at home. This information will be useful to you to know how much you need to work out on each specific exercise in order to burn off the desired number of calories.

Actually what you heard is correct, you can only lose weight, and I assume we are not talking about water weight here, by burning more calories than you take in. Unless of course you are going to pay a plastic surgeon to suck it from your body, or alternatively cut off a limb, however, you're missing the key factor, which is your metabolic rate. The reality is your correct in regards to you burn x amount of calories while your running, the thing your missing is what that does to your metabolism. Your body continues to burn calories long after you finish running. Your temperature is up, your body is trying to cool itself down, and you will continue to burn additional calories long after you're finished. On top of all that you burn calories while you're sitting around doing nothing.
The general rule of thumb, this is an average, and unfortunately I don't have a site that I can point this to, so take it for what is it is worth Woman multiple your weight by 11, men by 12, yes I know it isn't fair, and that is how many calories your burn at rest. This obviously changes as your body composition changes, more lean muscle burns more calories, higher metabolism, but for the purposes of simple math we will stick with the average. Based on that, a 150 lbs woman burns 1650 calories sitting around doing nothing, then throw the 200 for your daily run, and just for simplicity sake lets say your body burns an extra 100 calories over the next hour trying to cool it self down, and you're up to 1950 calories burned in a day. Now I have already heard that 1 pound of stored fat is 3500 calories, again sorry no reference, and I am too lazy to go look it up, sorry. In any event, if you are only eating 1500 calories, I am NOT suggesting this, just simple math here, then our example is burning 450 calories extra every day, which equate to losing around a pound of body fat, not weight because your body stores water and you will lose that as well, per week. So the most effective way to continue to lower your body fat is to burn the number of calories you use at rest, yes this includes while you're sleeping. This is where weight training can be very useful, but that is for a different post. Hope this helps.

rel=”nofollow” Avoid cold, oily and spicy food. Those induce gastric problems. A relax mind and a power sleep might help.

    * Eat once a day, around 1000 calories and at least 75 grams of protein * Walking is an amazing exercise for shedding those last few pounds without losing muscle. It’s pretty much the exclusive choice of cardio for body builders trying to cut. Assuming you’re 160 pounds, you would need to lose 2.4 pounds to get down to 10% body fat. You would burn that walking about 150 miles (7.5 miles per day for 20 days). * Hit the gym! Dead lifts especially will give you some sexy abs.

I am so happy to have found this! I'm fat…and I have epilepsy. To compound the matter, most anti-seizure medications cause weight gain and drowsiness. My last neurologist, while being a pretty nice guy, was always on me about how badly I needed to lose weight so that the risk of injury when I fall from seizures would be lessened. That I can understand. On my last few visits with him, however, he became much more insistent, as he didn't see any change on the scales. Tearful, I told him that I had been trying to lose weight, but had been unsuccessful. He asked me what I was doing to try to lose weight, with what I perceived to be an almost condescending tone. I told him I had started to exercise 2-3 days a week, 30 min. a day, cut out red meats, decreased caloric intake, switched to fresh, whole foods only – nothing prepackaged… He smirked at me, and cut me off in mid sentence and said “You are still focused on food! You are not going to lose weight until you get food out of your head! You simply have to stop eating.” He went on to tell me that I could run 5 miles a day and it would only burn x amount of calories, and that would barely be half of one meal, so the only real way to lose weight is to stop eating. He didn't say stop eating breakfast, or stop eating junk food. He said stop eating. Period. I was humiliated, ashamed, and felt as though this physician was telling me that there was simply no hope for me other than starvation and becoming anorexic.

My friend is very allergic to soy- even inhaling it messes him up. And it's in practically everything.
I drink soy milk and use soy sauce and other Asian soy products. But that's the soy I know about. I rarely eat bread, and will start making my own, because High Fructose Corn Syrup is a worse irritant for me- it gives me hellacious heartburn. I cannot drink sodas, eat candy, or any other foods with high amounts of HFCS in them. And I wonder if this isn't the reason why we're having such an epidemic of heartburn and gastric problems.
