    I would be okay with this music, but, this guys NEEDS to back away from the mic. Like, seriously, it just doesn’t sound good.

    11 people seem to not have very accurate clicking skills.

  13. Heffe6 says:

    @TigerBait45 If you are referring to the Orange Twin stuff, it was Bulgarian field recordings of local music. Pretty interesting stuff!

    each one a little more than he would dare to try

    I wish I could find the interview, but Mangum says that most of his songs were derived from dreams that he had. I think he says something along the lines of “I did as much drugs as the average high school kid” or something. I think it’s just hard for people to imagine the fantasy like lyrics he creates without some form of altered consciousness. All I can say is dreams are powerful.

  16. jgm22 says:

    shutup about drugs. how many of you people use “alcohol”? that’s far worse than pot or most other drugs so shut your pie holes. a self described “stoner” is probably the least threatening person you’ll ever meet. this music is some of the best ever made and if drugs influenced it than thank GOD for drugs!

  17. harrow22121 says:

    @Vaiseoquan thats cause your high as shit

  18. fishycrossit says:

    he’s mortal, he has the ability to play a shitty show, and this is pretty clear evidence. don’t lower your standards, even mangum can suck sometimes and he’ll be the first to admit it. in the aeroplane is still a masterpiece

  19. Jutesoup says:

    genius …..

  20. televisionlighter says:

    @lkschlosser

    thats just your opinion man. i love drugs.

  21. UnstableFailureX says:

    Did anyone else notice what he says at 9:39-9:45?

  22. Clerks0 says:

    @mikerigley86

    You know that’s a song, right? It’s not his life story or something. And there is this interview where he said that he USED to do drugs.

  23. mikerigley86 says:

    drugs? he didn’t do drugs…listen to “song against sex” on the avery island album. “Save my soul from all these troubled times, and all the drugs that I don’t have the guts to sooth my mind, all ways sober, all ways sinking, all ways heading towards that suicide”

  24. peaceric says:

    that verse,

    follow me through the city of frost covered angels
    i swear i have nothing to prove
    i just want to dance in your tangles
    to give me some reason to move

    it’s one of the most wonderful lyrics i’ve ever heard

  25. Clerks0 says:

    @lkschlosser you know that jeff used to take drugs, right? he descirbed himself as a stoner when he was younger

  26. And I don’t want to be all I-like-better-music-than-you. But maybe try Wilco instead of Cake and try The Mountain Goats in addition to Jeff Mangum.
