What are the best things to include in a 500 calorie a day diet?
I realise how unhealthy this is, but this is for an acting oppurtunity I have worked hard for. I have calculated that to lose the amount of weight I need to for the role in seven weeks, I need to eat a strict 500 calorie per day diet. What’s the best way of doing this? I of course want to get as much balance as possible within the strict limit, and I also want to be able to fill myself up. What are some good low-calorie foods/filling up foods I can eat, and that will sustain me during the day? Obviously I need to eat low-calorie foods so I can eat several times a day and not get unbearably hungry. I’m taking multivitamins and iron tablets as well. Thanks a bunch!

At 500 calories, your body will probaby go into starvation mode and you may not lose the weight (think about how pictures of starving children always have kids with big swolen bellies). You’d be better off doing Atkins, which is a much better (although just as dangerous) way to lose weight.
Raw vegetables they contain Iron, potassium and heaps of vitamins, and they fill you up.
More Food!!!
At 500 cal/day, your body’s gonna go into starvation mode and if you do that for seven weeks, you’re gonna end up really sick. i’m sure you want to be healthy enough to do a good job w/ the acting opportunity, right?
Lots and lots of salade.
You should do what i do. I eat between 1000-1100 calories a day, and burn off between 500-700 calories. You’re still eating but you’re working it off and tonning up at the same time!
sugar free jello has 10 calories in each serving. be careful don’t starve yourself
Even if you took supplements, youwouldn’t be able to take them up because there wouldn’t be enough food.
Not that this answers your questoin but i just wanted to mention that if you do that, and then you get the acting job, assuming you are still alive and moving, if you start eating more calories again you wuill gain a lot of weight
you would be better off taking something called spa-tone rather than the iron tablets as they are known to constipate plus have lower absorbtion rate than the spa tone, which is basically just water. it comes in boxes of 14 or 28 and its daily sachets of water which is rich in iron, it comes from an ancient roman spa in wales i think. you can get in health food shops aswell as holland and barett. as for sleep can they not give you diazepam or something?
Bryan that is really a helpful example. Many parents I work with, including myself, have often times found it difficult to equate this strict limit setting with a loving response. I believe that is often occurs when our first response is reactive so we work on not being reactive but the limit goes too. Because setting limits and holding to them has a way of making you feel mean…again the parents responsibility to process, not the child.
Taking time to think, and implementing the 3 R's before answering seems to be a key factor.
Again thanks for sharing this example. Keep them coming, especially around this topic.
