I recently started trying to get in better shape & lose some weight. I’ve been walking 3 miles on a treadmill everyday & watching what I eat, but is food really a big factor in losing weight? I know eating at fast food restaurants and what not are a big no no, but like as far as other things. If so.. what advice could y’all give me to help with the progress and if I should be doing other “workout” things, I’d appreciate any and everyone’s input. Thanks.

Burn more calories than you take in everyday. Keep track of your calorie intake and the calories you are burning and make sure that you burn more than you take in. On top of that stay away from fattening foods.
Stay away from ‘empty calories’ like pop and coffee. Drink water instead.

first of all, good job on the exercise and keep it up! (: but second… exercising will get you NOWHERE if you eat bad foods. you need to eat foods with not a lot of calories because in order to lose 1 pound you need to burn 2000 more calories than you eat. rate yourself on a scale on 10 how hungry you are and ask yourself do i really NEED to eat?? only eat enough to hold you over. Your diet is the number 1 factor of you losing weight by far. oh and btw try jump roping! try to go for as long as you can. then rest and do 60 seconds of going as fast as you can. I think youll find its harder than it looks :p it really works out all of your body. Youll be sore the next day!
