why are Bananas recommended when you begin a fitness regimen?
When you look at fitness sites, it says eat lots of bananas and Peanut butter. I understand that you eat peanut butter for its protein. But why bananas?

Bananas are really the perfect pre-workout fuel. You get simple carbohydrates for an immediate energy kick and potassium to maintain good electrolyte levels. They’re easy to digest, portable, and cheap.
I think the potassium levels in the bananas really helps with sore muscles too.
bananas are very good, especially post workout. The potassium will help with muscle recovery, and the fact that bananas are simple carbs, is another reason why they are best post workout. This is because when you consume your protein shake, you want a simple carb as it digests quickly, and will cause an insulin spike allowing better absorption for the protein to begin repairing muscle tissue. I have a banana along with a protein shake 20 min after my workout, been working for me!

Focusing on YOUR life and give all 100% – will obviously improve your life and will promote the same outcomes as listed above, ditto for everything else on his list. If your name implies you are overweight, I have just the ticket for ya, Crossfit!!! Google it, find a location near you, go 4 times/week and I GAURANTEE you will be a lean beast within a year and you will be amazed how much more confident you will be and look so much better, win/win. I have done every fitness regimen known to man and this shit works hands down better than anything else. I do not work for/own a crossfit gym, just believe in it emphatically because I have seen what it can do. Start NOW.
