Which diet is the video talking about? A low fat diet or low calorie diet? Both combined? The dude first started talking about how low fat diets doesn’t work, but when he started explaining why he switched the subject over to low calorie diet. These are two different diets! The body will react differently to both.

@doodo478 I seem like a very ignorant person? Well guess what bud? You PROVED to be a very ignorant person! Spouting off all your limited BS nutrition knowledge. NOOOO Scooby1961 doesn’t know anything about nutrition. Until you can prove Sean’s claims are false, and until you use real research, I suggest you shut the hell up. Have a great weekend…

  5. doodo478 says:

@timmyxdl I checked your name in Google and you seem to be a very ignorant person and very vocal in your comments. Though maybe you will change I don’t know. Though have a good day sir, and all the best.

@doodo478 Look up the chronic diseases body builders get…Ever wonder why those so called healthy looking body builders are more prone to colon cancer? Do you have ANY idea what excito toxins and GMO’s can do to your body? Oh yeah, you don’t know what those are since you think all calories are the same! LOL

  7. timmyxdl says:

@doodo478 OOPS! Nevermind, you subscribed to that idiot Scooby1961. If you are listening to everything he says regarding nutrition, you are a bigger joke than I know you are! Let me guess, you think dietary cholesterol and saturated fat is bad for you just because scooby said so?

  8. timmyxdl says:

@doodo478 LOL! Why are you deleting your own comments for? What do you have to hide? Your pathetic knowledge of nutrition? And no, looking healthy does not mean being healthy. Everything isn’t exterior bud. Are you sure your organs digestive tract is fully functional? Look into it bud. Until you can debunk any of Sean’s so called “claims”, I suggest you shut the hell up.

  9. timmyxdl says:

@themajigire Did you look at the dates the videos were uploaded? high fat diets don’t cause heart disease bud. If you get all your fats from quality sources. Omega 6 oils/vegetable oils are the leading cause of heart disease.

  10. timmyxdl says:

@doodo478 LOL no. Like I said, just because you lost weight and look good, DOES NOT mean you’re healthy. Are you serious dude? There are good calories bad calories you idiot. You think 2000 calories of soda and candy are comparable to 2000 calories of organic meat and vegetables? Did you do REAL research or did you just read some goofy article on yahoo news? Stop talking already, you’re making yourself look more stupid with each post.

  11. timmyxdl says:

@doodo478 LOOKING GOOD is not the same as being healthy…Just because someone looks like a body builder doesn’t mean they are healthy…HUGE difference.

  12. timmyxdl says:

@doodo478 LOL! If you seriously believe all that garbage you just said, you need to stop listening to the media and get your head checked out. Exercising will NOT make you healthy. It will help, but the FOODS you eat play a huge role. You can get fatter from exercising and eating fast food bud. Calories are NOT just calories. You wanna know why Mr. Doodo? ALL calories work differently in the body. There are good fats, bad fats, good carbs, bad carbs, good protein, bad protein…

  13. themajigire says:

also……. i agree with brian, high fat low carb diets can be very similar to a balanced low fat (medium) carb diet…. carbs ddont give you cancer, its the sugar that takes the toll on your system. also, anything that rots in your system is bad for you. it leaves behind disguisting after effects and basically rots your body from the inside out until you die

  14. themajigire says:

in a different post by this guy, he says that everyone is different and subjected in different ways with different diets. however in this post, he seems to be a little wacko and saying that high fat does not cause heart disease and going to a couple of extremes.

  15. timmyxdl says:

@themajigire This is a joke right? Fat is bad for you?!? This isn’t 1980 anymore bud. The non-fat, low fat crap has been debunked and has ruined a lot of lives already…

  16. timmyxdl says:

@doodo478 LOL! You’re really reaching huh? You need proof? LOOK AROUND! Everyone is a big fat fatty today…Ever notice that wrestlers/athletes that starve themselves to get to a certain weight, get injured/season is over, balloon up like crazy so easily?

  18. Briankozmo says:

I don’t think one can jump to the conclusion that less calories are bad. Isn’t it true that people on high-fat low-carb diets end up eating lower calories anyways?

  21. dxburner222 says:

Best diet is the atkins lost 25 pounds in a month all I had was meat and greens that’s no carbs or calories with some hard workouts your pretty much losing a pound a day. I think people who follow the low fat are stupid it’s making people more heavy because it’s high carb intake and it’s not really so much calorie it’s carbs

  22. themajigire says:

Low calorie diets are meant to be long term….. not short term. If you eat less calories than you burn, you lose weight. Plain and simple. Fat is bad for you, rots in your colon and clogs your arteries.. and this guy is wack if he’s saying that high fat low carb diets don’t cause heart disease. Your diet should be well balanced. Eat your fruits and vegetables, stay under your calorie limit, your stomach will shrink and you will be on track to skinny. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

  23. Anwell100 says:

@Chaaarge I wouldnt not know the details either, but a starvation diet is guaranteed to eat your muscle mass quickly. Your body eats itself basically, But people that are overweight have too much insulin to begin with, so reducing it is good. But I will read up about what you said.

  24. Chaaarge says:

@Anwell100 Yeah, but on the other hand, insuline pervents muscle breakdown to a certain extent. Lowering insuline a lot of time means that you increase adrenaline and cortisol which can promote muscle breakdown which can also lead a slower metabolism. This is just a hypothesis though. I’m no dietitian so I could be wrong. I just heard that low insuline can lead to higher cortisol. For example, cardio decreases insuline and increases cortisol

  25. Anwell100 says:

@Chaaarge Thats wasnt the point. You do, but it depends on what these calories consists of. You eat a lot of calories on a low carb diet, but by lowering the intake of carbohydrates insulin is prevented from forming. Insulin prevents you from burning your stored fat. Less insulin, you burn your own fat without starving.

The point he is trying to make is that if you starv yourself, and you will on a low calorie diet. When you crack, like 90% do, your metabolism is so low you get even fatter.

Ursodiol has been used to prevent gallstones and to dissolve small gallstones. I have used it in the past in patients who did not want surgery. They changed their minds when they found out it had to be continued after stone dissolution. I know some of my colleagues use it when placing patients on very low calorie diets to prevent gallstones. It may have a role after bariatric surgery also for the same reason.

  27. Jared Bond says:

“Eggs … you can’t go too crazy, but one a day is fine if you don’t have cholesterol problems”

Browsing through Google, had to comment. Dietary cholesterol has almost no effect on blood cholesterol levels. 80% of blood cholesterol is synthesized by your own liver. Also, it is not clear if LDL cholesterol is really an indication of heart disease, or anything else. People have heart attacks no matter what their cholesterol is– in fact more if it's lower (sorry, I can't remember the specific facts are). Cholesterol is a vital nutrient that is the basis for many hormones as well as synthesis of vitamin D by sunlight, and also cell membrane structure.

“There's no connection whatsoever between cholesterol in food and cholesterol in blood. And we've known that all along. Cholesterol in the diet doesn't matter at all unless you happen to be a chicken or a rabbit.” –Ancel Keys, Ph.D., professor emeritus at the University of Minnesota 1997. (Ancel Keys was the originator of the “Lipid Hypothesis” in the 1950s, which first proposed that saturated fats raise cholesterol, and cholesterol causes heart disease.)

Regarding Gary Taubes’ book, have you tried his change in eating regimen? Five members of my immediate family have dropped carbs and sugar from our diet for about 3 months now. My wife lost 23 lbs., noticeably around her waist and buttt, I lost 15 lbs. so far, all around my waist (2 pant sizes), my son-in-law lost 32 lbs. and had to buy all new pants, and my son has only been on the new eating regimen for less than month and has lost 8 lbs., around his waist. The gross diet that you refer to provides me the ability to enjoy bacon and eggs, guilt free, for the first time in 50 years! Not at all gross to us. Bruce
