There may not be a duality to the men IN the war, but there IS a duality to the war itself. You've got boot camp and you've got Vietnam. Boot camp is fierce, the war is laid back. Boot camp is orderly, the war is chaos. Boot camp keeps men under control, the war sets the loose.
I found that the film did a good job of demonstrating the crazy disconnect that exists between training and the real thing. This is where the second half pays off imo. While not as fun to watch as the first, the contrast is certainly interesting.

Nintendo’s been aiming to change that couch potato experience and that’s what they’re doing. Sega thought like Nintendo and tried to do the same but their ideas came too early and they died to soon. If anything Nintendo’s only real threat is Sega jumping back into the console game and giving them real competition again. By now they already understand how all 3 manufactures operate as they have worked with all of them. I’m sure if they had the proper investments and design teams they could do some serious damage.
